Home Solar Grant:

Who can apply?

Homeowners (including private landlords) who’s propoerties were built and occupied before 2021. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed.

  €250 for every additional kWp up to 4kWp €1850 for 3kWp solar panels

Apply for your grant and wait for your grant offer before you start the works. Do not start works until you receive the grant offer.

Grant offers are valid for eight months. Please note the grant, once approved, is only payable in respect of the measure, size of installation and grant amount referenced in the Grant Offer.

Should you wish to increase the size of your array, you will need to contact the Solar PV Team in advance of works commencing, including up to the day of the install, but before works start.

Using My Power’s experienced team, finalise the design of your solar power system and pricing.

My Power will apply to ESB Networks to connect the solar PV system to the electricity network. This will be completed in advance of installing the Solar PV system. This application process takes at least 4 weeks / 20 working days.

Your solar PV system can now be installed. My Power will proceed to install system.

Before your grant can be processed you must get a post works BER carried out. My Power will arrange this on your behalf. This is included in the cost of install.

My Power will submit documentation to SEAI electronically. You will also receive a copy of documentation submitted.

Documentations will be submitted within 3 days of completed install.

SEAI will process your claim once all documentation is submitted, to include a new BER certificate. Processing of payment usually takes between 4-6 weeks, additional time may be added if an inspections required.

Electric Vehicle Home Charger Grant:

Who can apply?

Claim up to €300 towards the purchase and installation of an electric home charger unit. Funding for the EV Home Charger scheme is provided by Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland (ZEVI) based in the Department of Transport. SEAI operates this grant scheme on behalf of ZEVI.
The grant is now open to homeowners to apply for a grant, whether they own an electric vehicle or not. This charge point can also be used for visitor use or at rented accommodation.

Criteria for Grant:

  • From September 2022 the EV Home Charger Grant Scheme will only support smart chargers registered on Triple E.

  • The EV must be parked on an off-street parking location associated with the home and the charger must be connected back to the home of the applicant (please refer to your electrician for the best installation approach).

  • The Meter Point Reference Number (MPRN), which you can find on your electricity bill, will be used to confirm the location of your home.

  • The property cannot be associated with a previous EV home charge point grant payment. Additionally, it cannot have availed of the free ESB Ecars home charger pre 2018.

  • Do not commence any work before the start date on your Letter of Offer otherwise this expenditure will be deemed ineligible and you will not receive grant support for it.

  • You have 6 months from the date on this Letter of Offer, which will be emailed to you, to complete your installation and return your Payment Request Form to SEAI with all associated evidence whole and complete – Cert 3, Test Record, photo of installation, invoice from electrician.

Please note, on average applications will processed for payment on the Home Charger Grant Scheme in approximately 6-8 weeks from the date documents are received into SEAI.

Finalise systems requirements and agree price with My Power

When applying, you will require the following information

  1. Address of location where charger will ne installed
  2. MRPN associated with address.
  3. EV Charger Details
  4. Manufacturer and Product Name of charger to be installed. We will provide this information, it will be supplied on quote.

From when you receive your Letter of Offer, you have 6 months to complete the installation of your charge point.

Once the installation is completed, My Power will complete Installation Details form and you should complete the Payment Request Form.

My Power will provide you with a copy of the Certificate Number 3. Review this and ensure it is completed properly.

Submit your Payment Request Form found in the Letter of Offer email with the following items:

  1. Fully signed and completed Payment Request Form including bank account details
  2. Copy of Certificate Number 3
  3. Copy of Test Record sheet from Electrician
  4. Copy of invoices
  5. Photographs of the installed charge point
